About the Speaker

Justin is a seasoned engineer with a 20-year career spanning from Military Engineering to high-precision 3 and 5-axis CNC machining and programming. This background in subtractive manufacturing and rigorous mechanical tolerances forms the foundation of his current expertise in Additive Manufacturing.

Specialising in the end-to-end design, manufacture, and strategic rollout of engineering assets, Justin has successfully transitioned traditional production workflows into digital ones. He is currently spearheading the commissioning of a specialised food-safe production cell, integrating advanced AM technology to achieve strict food-contact certification. By bridging the gap between heavy engineering and digital fabrication, Justin is pioneering a new standard for technical autonomy and localised production within the UK food industry.

Scaling Innovation: How Nestlé UK Smashed AM Savings Targets and Revolutionized Food-Safe Production

2026 marks a pivotal turning point for Nestlé’s digital manufacturing strategy. After a record-breaking year where our Additive Manufacturing (AM) program surpassed 2024 savings by over 30%, we are scaling our operations to meet the next frontier of industrial 3D printing.

This session dives into the strategic expansion of our UK workshop, featuring the development of a dedicated food-safe room. By integrating advanced technology to produce certified, food-contact parts on-site, Nestlé is significantly reducing lead times and increasing operational efficiency. We will explore the roadmap that led to this expansion and discuss whether this facility represents a UK industry first. Join us to learn how we transitioned AM from a niche prototyping tool into a high-value, certified production powerhouse that is fundamentally changing the cost dynamics of our UK factories.
